What Are the Most Popular Christmas Tree Decorations in China?

In China, Christmas trees in the home are usually artificial and decorated with a combination of paper chains, lanterns and flowers. Chinese Christmas trees are called "Trees of Light."

Outside of the home, Chinese Christmas trees are often elaborately decorated to look like Western Christmas trees with lights and ornaments. The city of Shanghai erects a massive Christmas tree on the Bund every year that is decorated with ribbons, ornaments and lights, and it can be seen across the river, as well as another tree in Times Square. Additionally, the Grand Gateway 66 shopping mall in Shanghai annually displays a 59-foot tree covered in Swarovski crystals.
