What Options Are Available When Renting a VFW Hall?

Options for Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFE) halls vary by location, but may include catering, open bar packages, linens and furniture. Some VFW halls can be rented by the hour or for a set number of hours. A deposit is typically required to book a location.

Some VFW halls provide more services and options than others. One VFW post in Michigan offers catering services to guests who book either of their halls that include one to three entrée selections, one starch, one vegetable and one salad, in addition to dessert and coffee. Some VFW posts allow outside caterers for an additional fee. Outside caterers are often required to be food safety certified, depending on the location.

In addition to food, many VFW posts serve alcohol. Renters may be given open bar, consumption tab or cash bar options. Bartender fees may be extra. A non-alcoholic beverage package may also be available.

Most VFW posts include furniture and set up in the rental hall fees. Hall rental for the post in Michigan does not include clean up, which can be added for an extra fee. Other posts include this charge in the total hall fee. Other options may include coat check service, security and a busser to clear the tables.
