Make wedding bouquets with silk flowers by choosing the type, size and colors of flowers that you want; preparing the stems by trimming and wrapping them; arranging the flowers; and wrapping the stems with floral tape or wire and some sort of decorative base. Decorative bases can range from ribbons to twine, natural wire and birch bark.
First, gather the necessary materials including the silk flowers and greenery, floral tape and wire, wire cutters, a glue gun and twine or ribbons. When choosing silk flowers, go to local craft stores and choose flowers that match your wedding theme. For instance, a bouquet can include only white mums and hydrangea flowers or a mixture of succulents, seeded grass, snow berries and roses. Cut off the leaves and extra stems from the flowers and greenery. Wrap the stems in floral wire and tape.
Gather the flowers in a bouquet, adding and arranging them as desired to create a rounded shape. Then gather all the stems with floral wire and tape. For a more natural look, use brown floral wire and brown ribbon. To attach the ribbon to the stems, use a push pin or hot glue. Finally, cover the floral tape or ribbon with a sheet of birch bark and twine or natural wire to give the bouquet a vine-like appearance.
