To make a hospital birth announcement, purchase a feather wreath. Use floral pins to connect a pacifier, teething ring, baby socks and other small accessories that babies use. Attach some bows and ribbon pieces. Tie a hanger loop through the opening in a wooden letter, and hang it from the top of the wreath.
To add more color, wrap pieces of ribbon around the letter itself. Put a wreath hanger over the door of the mother's hospital room, and hang the wreath so that people walking by know about the new arrival.
Alternatively, secure some new diapers to a basic wreath. Elastic bands hold the diapers in place so that they hold the round shape of a wreath. To give the wreath more color, slide some pairs of socks, onesies, hair ribbons, small stuffed animals and receiving blankets inside the elastic straps too.
As with the other design, hang the first letter of the baby's last name from the top of the wreath or, alternatively, hang a sign showing the little one's first name. The colors that appear on many diapers from decorative figures and animals also provide some more visual variety on the wreath. The diapers and gifts make this hospital birth announcement a practical idea.
