Genevieve Gorder's wedding to Tyler Harcott came after meeting him on the set of "A Dating Story" in 2003, and the episode never aired because the first date did not go as planned. Harcott had just broken up with a long-time girlfriend, but there was an instant attraction between him and Gorder. Off camera, Harcott pursued Gorder until she agreed to give him another chance. They married in 2006.
After two years of marriage, the couple had a daughter, Bebelle. Unfortunately, the couple separated soon after. Gorder maintains primary custody of their daughter and resides in a Manhattan apartment with her, as of 2016.
Gorder later began dating Anthony Carrino of HGTV's "Design Stars." She has been very vocal about having no plans to marry again, stating that a ring is not necessary to indicate commitment. Gorder has not ruled out having additional children if the opportunity would arise.
Gorder's television career began when she worked as a commentator on MTV's "Sex in the '90s." She later moved on to TLC's "Trading Spaces," where she became a household name. Viewers appreciated her penchant for design and the casual way she worked barefoot. Since leaving "Trading Spaces," she has starred in "Dear Genevieve," been a judge on "Design Star," hosted HGTV's "White House Christmas" and ventured into reality television with "Genevieve's Renovation," a show chronicling the redesign of both her apartment and her life.
