Living-Prayers.com suggest the Easter meal begin with this prayer: "As we gather together underneath the banner of your life, we thank you for all the wonderful food that we can now enjoy, and celebrate your glorious resurrection. Thank you Lord. Amen." Easter prayers for children are also available at the same website.
Xavier University offers a longer Easter mealtime blessing that ends with the words, "Bless those whose work to prepare this meal has truly been a work of prayer, and bless all of us who shall share it with Easter love and joy. May You, then, bless this table and this food, and each of us in Your holy name. Amen." The prayer in full and others like it are available at Xavier.edu/jesuitresource.
Many families offer their traditional mealtime prayer on Easter Sunday but add sentiments about what Easter means to them. According to CatholicCulture.org, it is also acceptable to offer a prayer both before and after the Easter meal. After the meal, they suggest, "Blessed are you, Lord our God, who gathers us together in Jesus' name. We thank you for sharing your life with us, both in this meal and in all the ways you sustain us, through Christ, our Risen Lord. Amen."
