Some good Halloween cupcake decorations are a spider made from pretzels, a peanut butter cup Frankenstein and a cotton candy spider web. Make a witch hat cupcake by dipping the end of a chocolate ice cream cone in melted chocolate and setting it on top of a chocolate wafer cookie. Place the witch hat on top of a green-frosted cupcake, and pipe out a band of frosting above the brim of the hat where the cone meets the cookie.
To make a spider web cupcake, frost the chocolate cupcakes with white frosting that contains 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk. Pull off a piece of white cotton candy, loosening it a little to resemble a cottony web. Place a plastic spider on the cotton candy web.
Another spider-decorated cupcake idea calls for 12 pretzel sticks, 1 Reese's peanut butter pumpkin, 2 candy eyeballs and melted chocolate. First, dab melted chocolate on the ends of six of the pretzels, and attach the other six pretzels to it to make six hinged spider legs. Smooth melted chocolate over the top of the Reese's pumpkin and stick the ends of each of the six legs into it, with three on each side. Pop on the two eyes, and set the spider on top of the frosted cupcake.
