To make handprint spiders, paint each child's palms black. Help her press her hands onto a piece of paper, with palms overlapping to make the spider's body and the fingers forming legs. Decorate with googly eyes and glitter. Use brown paper bags to make Halloween puppets or treat bags.
Use brown paper lunch bags to make hand puppets. Show kids how the flap at the bottom of the bag becomes the puppet's face when a hand is inside the bag. Kids can make scary or silly creatures on the bags using markers, paint and craft supplies such as fuzzy yarn balls.
Preschoolers can also transform paper grocery bags into trick-or-treating bags using the same art supplies.
