Some good Bible verses to include as part of a wedding ceremony are Genesis 2:18, Proverbs 18:22 and Mark 10:6-9. I Corinthians 13 is also a popular and appropriate passage.
Genesis 2 states that God made woman because "Then the Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.'" This establishes the relationship between a husband a wife.
Proverbs 18:22 clarifies the value of a spouse. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing And obtains favor from the Lord."
In Mark 10, Jesus describes what marriage is supposed to be. In verses 7 and 8, He says, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh."
I Corinthians is the famous "love chapter." It teaches what love is, not just between a husband and wife but among all people. Nevertheless, its description of unselfish love is a recipe for a loving and successful marriage.
