To email birth announcements, start by compling a list of contacts and choosing an announcement template, then compose your announcement message and hit send when everything is ready. Emailed birth announcements are a fast, efficient and appropriate way to let your friends and family know about your new baby. The entire process can take less than 30 minutes.

  1. Compile a list of people to inform

    Create a mailing list before the birth of your child to save time after your delivery. Include family, friends and anyone who would be hurt if they did not receive one. Create a list the people without email so that you don't forget them.

  2. Draft an email with the basic information

    Create the birth announcement. Download a template or write your own that includes some of the following information about the baby: birthday, weight, height, gender, name, hospital, the names of the baby's parents and siblings, the names of the grandparents, who delivered the baby and the baby's website. Country of birth can be listed if you adopted your child overseas. Fill in the information you know before the birth to save time.

  3. Revise your draft and send the announcement

    Fill in the last details, proofread your announcement and send it. Remember to mail paper birth announcements to the people who do not have email addresses or online presences.
