Create a word scramble game for a baby shower by using an existing free scramble as a template. Use generic baby terms, such as diaper or bottle, as well as specific terms to the new baby, such as her name, parents' names and the baby's nursery theme.
To construct the word scramble, mix the letters in each word, and then list the scrambled words on the left-hand column of the paper. Use around 20 words to create an optimal length. Provide a blank line that participants can fill in for each answer. Have an answer sheet handy to share when checking the answers. When short on time, print a scramble for instant use.
In addition to baby terms, words related to pregnancy, birth and conception can be appropriate, depending on the people attending the shower. Scrambling the parents' list of possible baby names is another option. Add a border, drawings or clip art to make the game more attractive. During game play, have each player keep game sheets flipped upside-down before starting the timer. Once each person has a copy, begin play until the first person unscrambles each word or the timer runs out. Offer prizes to the winners, such as hand lotion, scented candles or chocolates.
