Hallmark, Catholic Company and Maytree are among companies that sell religious greeting cards. These companies range from well-known mainstream businesses to smaller specialty-card entities and offer Christian-themed special occasion cards.
Hallmark is a giant in the commercial greeting card business. Greeting cards are among its Religious Events products. Hallmark's Christmas card themes include traditional, ethnic and vintage; the company also offers customized cards with photos for Christmas and Easter.
Family Christian Stores uses proceeds from its religious greeting cards to help support its charitable mission to help needy orphans and widows. It has cards for a number of Christian holidays and other religious occasions, such as baptism. There also are cards with a variety of illustrations that feature the words "Praying for you."
The Catholic Company also offers religious greeting cards for Christmas and Easter. Most of its Christmas cards feature the Madonna and Child or a nativity scene on the cover.
Maytree Cards provides greeting cards with Christian messages and images. John Blackwell, director of Maytree, said the United Kingdom-based company fills a market void of greeting cards with religious themes. Its Christmas cards offer images of the Madonna and Child. Angels and cherubs also are recurring images on Maytree cards.
