Create a different baby shower punch using berry or blue-colored powdered drink mix, white cranberry juice, a bottle of lemon-lime soda, sugar, vanilla ice cream and several small rubber duckies, found at discount and department stores. Preparation time takes about 10 minutes.
- Chill ingredients
Chill the soda and juice in the refrigerator overnight. Place ice cream in the freezer. Remove ice cream from the freezer about 30 minutes before serving to soften for easier use.
- Blend ingredients
Combine a 0.13-ounce package of blue-colored drink mix and a 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda with a 64-ounce bottle of white cranberry juice in the punchbowl or other serving bowl. Add sugar to taste. Ginger ale can be substituted for the lemon-lime soda, or white grape juice can go in place of the cranberry.
- Add ice cream
When shower guests arrive, float scoops of vanilla ice cream on top of the punch. As the ice cream begins to melt, it creates the illusion of white clouds and turns the punch a shade of blue. For a taste variation, substitute pineapple sherbet for the vanilla.
- Add duckies and garnish
Wash the rubber duckies and float them on top of the punch. For additional color, add optional garnishes of sliced oranges, cherries or other fruit.
