A bridal consultant is a wedding professional who assists couples in planning their weddings. Although the duties may match those of a wedding planner, the consultant may instead be employed within a department store to help set up gift registries.
If involved in wedding planning, the consultant's level of involvement can vary. She may plan most of the event, including organizing vendors and venues, managing budgets, planning bridal showers, helping with the seating plan and choosing invitations, flowers and decor, or she may specialize in just one of these areas. The bridal consultant may instead just be present on the day to help co-ordinate events.
Bridal consultants are typically self-employed and may opt for membership to the Association of Bridal Consultants.
