Based on sales reports, Sony's PS4 is nearly twice as popular as Microsoft's Xbox gaming console. As of May 2015, the PS4 has sold more than 20 million units worldwide, and the Xbox has sold 10 million.
There are many ways, beyond sales figures, of measuring the two gaming systems. From a hardware perspective, both systems are upgradeable. The PS4 accepts additional internal storage, while Xbox users can utilize an external USB hard drive. The Xbox's 1.75-GHz processor is slightly more powerful than the PS4's 1.6-GHz system. At 8 gigabytes each, the two systems have the same amount of RAM, but the PS4 has a slightly better video resolution.
