“Drawn to Life” is about an evil shadow that has stolen the sun and covered a village in darkness. It's up to the player to save the village and rebuild it to its former glory. At the start of the game, players create their own heroes and must swim, jump and fly through worlds as they take on enemies. To complete this mission, they have to create their own weapons and tools as they progress through forests and islands.
“Drawn to Life” is a unique game in that players get to design their own hero and customize the in-game world using the Nintendo DS stylus. The game features 15 different vehicles for the player to utilize, including a submarine, rocket and sled. These items help the player transverse four worlds that are made up of 16 levels and 50 stages, totaling more than 15 hours of gameplay.
Players are given access to drawing tools such as guides, brushes and stamps. They can spend time creating detailed heroes or save time by making simple figures. Players can transfer accessories, items and heroes to others who have the game. Some items such as music, combat moves and unique drawing tools are available for purchase from in-game item shops.
