Sports hobbies can include any sport that a person does for his own pleasure. Athletes who excel at a sport can turn it into a career, but the majority of athletes only play as a recreational hobby.
Science-based hobbies constitute a broad category that includes astronomy, biology, chemistry and even electronics. It can also include so-called disciplines rooted in superstition, such as astrology.
Animal hobbies include anything related to interacting with or watching animals. Raising or breeding dogs is one example, along with beekeeping, falconry and hunting.
