Telephone game sentences are the beginning phrases used in a game of Telephone, also called Chinese Whispers, the Broken Telephone Game, the Gossip Game or the Grapevine Game. Any sentence can be used to start a game of Telephone, but some sentences have a funnier outcome than others.
Some examples of good Telephone game sentences include sentences that are famous quotes, sentences containing multiple numbers and sentences that include a variety of colors. A Telephone game sentence should be fairly easy to misinterpret, such as, "Don't try to wear pink slippers in Egypt," or "My mother hates it when I go on ships." An example of a more difficult Telephone game sentence is, "Four out of 40 people who live on Fifth Street moved in on Jan. 24, 2010."
