As of 2015, "Elmo and the Beanstalk” and “Cookie Monster Chase” are “Sesame Street” games available on the show’s website. Other educational games include “Ernie’s Dinosaur Day Care” and “Rhyme Time.”
“Elmo and the Beanstalk” is a recognition game that challenges players to collect beans that match a specific description, such as blue, checkered or striped. Players collect beans and climb up the beanstalk by jumping on leaves, some of which contain special boosts, ranging from super jumps to rainbow ladders.
“Cookie Monster Chase" is a classic arcade-style game in which the player navigates a maze while avoiding creatures known as Yip-Yips. The player tries to eat as many cookies and vegetables as possible to gain bonus points and to eliminate Yip-Yips by transforming them into extra vegetables.
In “Ernie’s Dinosaur Day Care,” the player learns basic facts about different dinosaurs by helping them exercise, compare footprints and choose the right foods. For example, players decide which dinosaurs eat meat or plants and keep count as the dinosaurs jump rope.
In “Rhyme Time,” Grover drives a train, and one of the cars displays a picture. When the train reaches a fork in the road, the player must continue through the correct tunnel by choosing the illustrated word that rhymes with picture on the train car. Players also perform microtasks, such as controlling the speed of the train and catching falling pictures in the train cars.
