The naturally abundant clay deposits found in Seagrove made it an ideal spot for crafting pottery. The Native Americans were the first to discover this. As more settlers made Seagrove and the surrounding area their home, pottery began to be traded and transported via the railroad system. The annual Seagrove Pottery Festival recognizes and celebrates the rich history and impact that pottery has experienced in the area.Learn more about Pottery & Ceramics
