J words in Scrabble can quickly add up. Even the three-letter words raj, haj and taj are worth a minimum of between 10 and 13 points. The six-letter words are worth a minimum of 16 points. These words all are Words with Friends-compliant as well.
Hasbro's Parker Brothers owns Scrabble. Prior to 1999, the game was the property of Milton-Bradley. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible without getting stuck with any high-value letters. For example, using the J in a word is desirable because of its relatively high point value. However, if at the end of the game a player still has a high-point letter that she is unable to place on the board, those points are deducted from her score.
The Scrabble board consists of 15 squares by 15 squares. Squares either are blank or labeled Triple-Word Score, Triple-Letter Score, Double-Letter Score or Double-Word Score. Good strategy involves aiming to get the high-value letters onto a high-value square. Some people believe it is necessary to create long words in order to win, but this is not the case.Learn more about Board Games
