Satta Matka is a betting game which resembles lottery. It used to be largely popular, but the number of its devotees has now declined severely. However, the game is still played in some regions of India and Pakistan.
Satta is the Hindi word for "betting." Matka is a simple lottery game which includes placing bets. The rules are easy to follow. The player chooses two sets of three numbers from 0 to 9. The sum of the three numbers is calculated. If the sum is a two-digit number, only the second digit counts and it is added to the set. These two sets of three numbers plus the second or only digit of their sum constitute the players card.
Then the player bets that his numbers (all or some) will be chosen, making any kind of bet the bookie allows. Satta Matka is therefore a game of chance and winning the game depends solely on luck.
