There were numerous dolls that came out in the 1980s including the She-Ra doll, Jem and the Holograms, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, He-Man and Cabbage Patch dolls. Many of the dolls from the 1980s have become very collectible and valuable.
Cabbage Patch dolls may be the most memorable from the 1980s simply due to the high demand for the dolls. These dolls were fought over by customers in stores. People waited in long lines to try and purchase the dolls as soon as they were put on the shelves, but there were many cases where there was not enough supply.
Strawberry Shortcake dolls were very popular due to the cartoon that they were based on. The fun thing about these dolls was that each doll smelled like the fruits they were named after. The dolls all had their own theme that ran from their hair color and scent all the way to their clothes and pets. There was Strawberry Shortcake, her cat Custard, Huckleberry Pie, his dog Pupcake and Apple Dumplin' with her turtle Tea Time just to name a few.
She-Ra and He-Man were both cartoon characters from the same universe. The characters not only had dolls, but action figures as well. Along with the two main characters, there were additional characters like Skeletor and the castle that were available to accompany them.
