Pocket Tanks is a computer game that involves one or two players. Opponents use an assortment of weapons and artillery in an attempt to damage the other's tank, which in turn earns points. Pocket Tanks is a stationary game, where each player holds a reserve of weapons and ammunition while stationed behind a large dirt embankment. Players take turns throwing ammunition at each other, with the end goal of hitting the opposing tank and amassing the largest number of points.
Like other computer games, Pocket Tanks comes in several formats. It is a creation of the company Blitwise Productions, which also makes the computer games Super DX-Ball and Neon Wars.
To win in Pocket Tanks, players use one or more of nearly 300 different weapons. They can also select weapons packages, which contain a set of anywhere between 5 and 15 weapons. The standard version of Pocket Tanks comes with packs of 5 weapons, while players receive 15 in the deluxe edition.
Players get a chance to launch 10 attacks on the other, and at the end of each round, the player with the most points wins. Players accumulate points based on the accuracy of their shots, types of weapons used, and the proximity to the other player's domain.
