How do you play Scrabble Junior?

Quick Answer

Scrabble Junior is played in a similar way to Scrabble, except that each player only plays two tiles per turn rather than making words with all seven letters available. Full Answer

Scrabble Junior begins with each player drawing seven tiles and setting them down in front, with all unused tiles placed face down in the game box lid. Each player takes turns inspecting the words on the board as well as her own tiles, then placing two tiles on the board. The tiles can form a new word or can be added to an already-existing word. Each time a player completes a word, she wins a point token. At the end of the game, the player with the most point tokens wins.

The Scrabble Junior board flips over to reveal a regular Scrabble board with slightly different decorations around the edges and with no bonus tiles. The second board can be used to play Scrabble following the standard rules. Tiles in Scrabble Junior are made of cardboard rather than the typical wood or plastic.
