Players play "Pocket God" by taking on the role of a god that has ultimate control over a remote island that is populated by natives. The player can use their powers to affect the environment by adding new animals or removing certain objects and people from the world.
The player can interact directly with the natives that populate the island by lifting them up or tormenting them using the elements, such as a lightning bolt. The player can also play by fundamentally changing the physical laws of the island, such as completely removing or altering the gravity.
"Pocket God" is designed to be played in a episodic format with each episode being fleshed out with a microgame. The game contains various locations within the island, each with its own secrets, scenarios and mini-games. An example of a mini-game in "Pocket God" is The Challenge of the Gods where the player must play other episodes to unlock the game's arena. In the arena, the player can choose to engage other gods in battle by using the most advantageous attack and realm types in a game that is similar to a rock-paper-scissors engagement.
As of 2015, "Pocket God" is available through the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Windows Phone store and through Verizon Wireless.
