As of June 2015, “Learn to Fly 3” is still in development but is completely funded on crowdfunding website Kickstarter. The game was originally scheduled for release in June 2014 but has been plagued with delays.
To bring this game to life, the developer needed to raise at least $5,000 on Kickstarter. At the end of the Kickstarter campaign, he had raised $16,551. After clearing the initial goal, the developer added stretch goals, such as offering online saves, hiring a music composer to write the music for the game and remaking the first “Learn to Fly” when certain levels of money were contributed.
Players can still enjoy “Learn to Fly 2” on arcade websites such as Kongregate while waiting for the developer to release “Learn to Fly 3.” “Learn to Fly 2” picks up after the events of the first game, in which the hero crashes into an iceberg after mastering the art of flying. Now, he wants revenge, and it's up to the player to help him get it.
In “Learn to Fly 2,” players must upgrade their flying gear with money that they earn during each flight. The goal is to destroy certain objects by running into them or dropping bombs on them. Sometimes, it takes more than one hit to destroy an object.
