Gamers use a computer keyboard to play “Ghost Blasters II.” The goal of the game is for two players to go head-to-head to see who can determine the correct mathematical answer the quickest. This flash game is available online for free on websites such as Oswego.org.
“Ghost Blasters II” helps players with mathematical addition. Before the game starts, players choose a number between one and 99 and enter their names. By default, the names are set as Player 1 and Player 2. During gameplay, two ghosts appear on the screen, and the players have to determine if the sum of the two ghosts equals the sum chosen at the start of the game.
The ghosts only appear on the screen for a short period of time. During this time, Player 1 uses the Z key, and Player 2 uses the A key. Hitting the key indicates that the player believes the sum equals the correct sum determined at the start of the game. If the player is correct, he gets a point. If he's incorrect, he loses a point. If both players choose correctly, the player who hits the key the fastest is the winner.
The game is made more challenging when the sum chosen is an odd number. Players who are just learning addition should start with low numbers. Clicking the “Menu” button during gameplay takes the players back to the main menu.
