Go Fish is a card game played with a standard 52-card deck, in which the goal is to collect the most sets of four cards. Three to six players can play the game.
To begin, each player gets five cards. All remaining cards go face down in a draw pile in the middle of the table.
Each player, on his turn, asks another player for a specific card rank. For example, he might say "Tom, give me all your 8's." But, the player must have at least one of the cards requested. In this example, the player would have to have at least one 8.
If the second player has the requested cards, then she gives them to the first player, and he gets another turn. If the second player does not have the requested cards, she says "Go fish." The first player then draws a card from the pile. If it matches the requested card, he gets another turn. If not, the person who said "Go fish" gets a turn.
When a player collects all four of certain card, he displays them to the other players and sets them face-down on the table in front of him. Play continues until one player runs out of cards or the draw pile runs out. The player with the most sets of four cards is the winner.
