The weight of an Xbox 360 depends on the different model purchased, with an original Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 Elite weighing 7.7 pounds with a hard drive and a newer Xbox 360 Slim weighing 6.3 pounds. An Xbox 360 without a hard drive weighs 7 pounds.
The size dimensions of the Xbox 360 Arcade, the version without a hard drive, is 11.5 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 3 inches tall, and the size of the Xbox 360 Elite is the same, except 0.5 inches wider for the hard drive, making it 12 inches wide. The Xbox 360 Slim, also called the Xbox 360 250GB, is 10.6 inches wide, 10.39 inches deep and 2.95 inches tall.
The Xbox 360 Slim differs from the previous generation models in more than just its size and weight. It also uses less power, requiring 135 watts against the 175 watts used in the original models and 150 watts used in later models of the original design. The Xbox 360 Slim also has an internal 802.11n wireless adapter, whereas the older models required the separate purchase of a wireless adapter to be plugged in the back of the console. Noise was an issue people had with the original models of Xbox 360; however, the Slim has reduced noise levels for playing a disc-based game from 18.5 decibels to 10 decibels and running a game from the hard drive from 1.45 decibels to 2.5 decibels.
