Microsoft Flight Simulator X was initially released in 2006, for Windows; as of 2015, it is the latest version of the popular Microsoft Flight Simulator series created in 1982. A Steam edition of the simulator was also released in 2014.
Flight Simulator X, or FSX, provides one of the most realistic flight simulations. The user can learn to fly a huge variety of aircraft from commercial planes to helicopters, and practice her piloting skills on 50 different missions.
FSX is highly customizable; the user can preset her aircraft to malfunction during flight, set weather conditions, and even emulate real-time weather conditions when connected to the Internet.
