One of the simplest working models of a volcano involves the use of baking soda and vinegar. The biggest benefit of the volcano is that simulates a volcanic eruption and it uses materials that aren't toxic.

To create this model, the first thing you have to do is make a cone for the volcano. Do this by mixing in six cups of flour, two cups of salt, four tablespoons of cooking oil, and two cups of water. This will create a mixture that is both smooth and firm. If it isn't easy to work with, then add more water.

Next, set a bottle into a ban and mold the dough around the bottle in the shape of a volcano. Make sure to leave the hole of the bottle open and to not drop in any of the dough. Now fill the bottle with warm water and red food coloring. Add six drops of detergent to the warm water, which will help trap the bubbles to produce better lava. Finally add two tablespoons of baking soda to the solution and slowly pour vinegar in the bottle. The addition of the vinegar will cause the eruption similar to that of a volcanoes.
