Make a homemade bulletin board using styrofoam, fabric, glue, a sharp knife, scissors and ribbon. All you have to do is cover the styrofoam with fabric, glue it in place and add ribbon. It takes less than an hour to complete the process.
- Prepare the styrofoam
Get a large piece of styrofoam, and cut it to the desired size using a sharp knife.
- Prepare the fabric
Cut a piece of fabric that's larger than the styrofoam so that it can wrap around the board. Add an extra 3 inches onto the length and width of the fabric. If the styrofoam is 20 inches by 24 inches, the piece of fabric needs to be 23 inches by 27 inches.
- Attach the fabric
Lay the fabric on a flat surface with the color or design facing down. Place the styrofoam on the top of the material directly in the center. Fold the loose fabric on the sides of the board backwards, and glue it down. Repeat the process for the flaps on the top and bottom.
- Add the ribbon
Add ribbon to the board, which enables you to tuck pictures onto the board without using tacks. Make a grid pattern by gluing down the ribbons where they intersect.
