To make homemade bath fizzies or bath bombs, mix baking soda, corn starch and citric acid together. Add some food coloring, essential oils and enough water to moisten the mixture without making it fizz.
To make homemade bath fizzies, use the following recipe.
- 1-3/4 cups baking soda
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 1 cup citric acid
- A few drops of food coloring
- A few drops of essential oil
- Sift the dry ingredients together
- Add water
- Add essential oils
- Pack the mixture in molds
- Remove the fizzies from the molds
- Repeat the final four steps
To remove lumps from the dry ingredients, use a sifter to mix the baking soda, cornstarch and citric acid.
To color the bombs, add around one cup of the dry mixture to a bowl. Add 6 drops of food coloring to a spray bottle filled with water. Spray the water onto the dry mixture. When the mixture is moist enough to clump together, stop spraying it with water.
To add scent to the bombs, add a few drops of essential oils to the mixture.
Pack the mixture into baking molds and let the fizzies dry. This usually takes around 2 hours.
Carefully remove the fizzies from the baking molds.
Repeat the final four steps to create different colors and scents.
