To make your own glitter pumps, coat the surface in glossy Mod Podge. Sprinkle glitter generously over the adhesive until the entire shoe is coated. Allow the shoes to dry, and spray on a clear acrylic to fix the glitter in place.
- Tape off shoe soles
Use masking tape or painter's tape to cover the soles of the shoes. Make sure the tape gets into the crease between the sole and the body of the shoe.
- Coat shoes with Mod Podge
Use a paintbrush to coat the surface of the shoes with Mod Podge or another type of decoupage glue. If you are using fabric-covered shoes, paint on an extra layer to ensure saturation. The surface should be tacky.
- Add glitter
Sprinkle glitter over the glue on your shoes in a thick, even layer. Tap the shoes gently to remove extra glitter. Allow each shoe to dry completely.
- Add a second coat
When the first layer is completely dry, paint on another thin layer of Mod Podge. Sprinkle a second layer of glitter on the wet glue. Allow the shoes to dry, and add a third layer if necessary.
- Use spray acrylic to finish the shoes
In a well-ventilated area, spray liquid acrylic onto the dry shoes to keep the glitter in place. Set the shoes aside to dry, being careful not to touch the wet acrylic.
