Obtaining life fruit on the Sims 3 video game requires a gardening skill level of seven and a special seed to plant or a culinary career. The fruit takes a while to produce, but once it does it is very rewarding, offering extra lifespans, income for Sims who decide to sell the plant, a 50 percent chance of a baby being added to the family and a variety of other special rewards. The fruit can also be obtained by enabling the cheat mode within the game.
Sims can obtain the fruit seed by searching the town, exploring the catacombs in a mausoleum, using the time machine, fishing it out of a body of water or from a culinary career. There is also a life fruit available for harvest in a tomb in the Pyramid of the Sky in Al Simhara, Egypt. Once the fruit seed is found, it can be planted in the garden.
Players can activate the "testingcheatsenabled true" cheat feature to obtain life fruit. While in the buy mode, hold the ctrl + shift + c keys down at the same time to bring up the cheat box. Type in "buydebug" to reveal the available life fruit in the Plant Spawners category. The Sims can then purchase the fully ripened fruit without the need to plant the seed and wait for it to produce.
