The original hardware that became known as Xbox technology that led to the Xbox 360 was created by a four man team, while the software was developed by Boyd Multerer. The Xbox is developed exclusively by Microsoft.
In 1998, Kevin Bachus, Otto Berkes, Seamus Blackey and Ted Hase came up with the idea for a standalone Microsoft game console. It was originally called the DirectX Box, which was shortened to its present name of Xbox. The XNA software was created by Boyd Multerer, who is the director of development for the Xbox. He has been involved with each variant of the console and was instrumental in the development of the Xbox 360 and the subsequent Xbox Live.
