"Treasure Hunts" are a line of Hot Wheels die-cast toy cars. They are produced in limited quantities and are randomly inserted into cases of other types of cars.
Mattel introduced the Treasure Hunts promotion in 1995 and has run it yearly since then. Each Treasure Hunts set generally consists of 12 cars. 10,000 of each car were produced in 1995, and 25,000 of each were produced in 1996, but the total amount produced each year has not been revealed by Mattel since then. Until 2013, the presence of the cars could be identified by a green bar on the packaging, but this practice was ended to make them more difficult to locate.
