The annual Breeder's Cup championship horse racing event is typically held in October or November. The Breeders Cup was created in 1982 as a year-end North American Thoroughbred racing championship, and it was inaugurated in 1984.
The first ever Breeder's Cup was held at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, on Nov. 10, 1984. The next year, it was held on Nov. 2 at the Aqueduct Racetrack in New York, New York. In 1986, the Cup was held on Nov. 1 at the Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. In 1987, the races were run on Nov.21, again at Hollywood Park. In 2007, the Breeder's Cup became a two-day event held the last weekend of October or the first weekend of November.
