A good Dark World deck consists of relevant monsters, spells and traps that help resurrect various Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters from a player's graveyard, according to tournament champion Robert Bryant. His main deck consists of 18 Dark World monsters, "Morphing Jar," 13 spell cards and eight trap cards. Yu-Gi-Oh! European champion Claudio Kirchmair includes 13 monsters, 18 spell cards and nine trap cards in his Dark World main deck.
Bryant explains the key to his Dark World main deck is to focus on bringing the monster card "Grapha, Dragon Lord of the Dark World" back from the graveyard using the effects of other Dark World monsters and spell cards. Grapha has a lot of attack points, and the card's effect can destroy an opponent's monster cards when Grapha is sent to the graveyard.
Kirchmair adds 15 cards to his extra deck (the maximum amount) to play in a duel, and he adds 15 cards to his side deck for substitutions between duels. Another important card is "Snoww, Unlight of Dark World," because it allows players to retrieve a Dark World card from their deck. Spell cards, such as "Dark World Dealings," let players discard a card to the graveyard, an ability that activates the effects of many Dark World monsters.
