The name game, I-spy, alphabet search, categories, and word building are all long bus games that occupy time and make trips seem shorter. Any number of people can participate in these games, including the entire bus.
The name game has participants take turns naming different objects they see in or out of the bus by name, alphabetically. One child names something with the letter A, then B and so on. Alphabet search and word building are similar to the name game. The alphabet search game has the same rules as the name game, but objects are named only outside the bus and word building is written on paper, spelling out words alphabetically. Categories has participants write out four categories of their choosing such as a girl's name, a boy's name, an animal or a color and then at the end, read off the lines across to make funny sentences.
