The "God of War" series of video games tells the story of a Spartan warrior named Kratos attempting to seek redemption for accidentally murdering his family in a rage induced by Ares, the god of war. Ten years before the first game, Kratos entered the service of Athena, the goddess of war, to make amends for his actions and seek redemption. Ares has declared war on Athena, and Zeus has forbidden gods from directly fighting. Kratos has to travel through the Temple of Pandora and gain the power of a god to kill Ares. He dies, makes his way out of Hades, kills Ares and becomes the new god of war.
Kratos lets his power get to him, and then gets deposed and killed again. Throughout the second game, Kratos is empowered by the Titans, such as Atlas, Cronus, and Typhon. Eventually, Kratos makes his way to the Island of Creation and kills the three Sisters of Fate. This makes Kratos able to undo his murder by Zeus and help the Titans in the fight against Olympus.
In the third game, Kratos once again travels through the Temple of Pandora and kills many of the gods, including Poseidon, Hades, Helios and Zeus. He ends the game by seemingly committing suicide, as he attempted at the start of the series.Learn more about Video & Online Games
