Some games that help players learn to type include “The Typing of the Ghost” and “Keyman.” Both games are free and require access to a computer keyboard to play.
In “The Typing of the Ghost,” players have to quickly type words to defeat ghosts before the ghosts reach the screen. Gamers get five lives, and they lose a life every time a ghost hits the screen. Their scores depend on how many words they can type correctly before losing all of their lives.
“Keyman” offers a new take on the classic arcade game “Pacman.” However, players must type a letter that corresponds with the direction in which they want Keyman to move. For example, if players want Keyman to move up, they have to type the letter that appears above Keyman's head.
