Although there are a number of ways to crop other people out of photos, one of the simplest methods is to use the built-in tools in a photo-editing application such as Paint. A computer using a Windows operating system usually has Paint already installed. After opening the program, the process involves opening the photo file and using Paint's tools to remove the person from the image.
- Access the Paint application
Paint can be located by clicking the Start button, selecting All Programs and opening the Accessories folder. Double-click on the Paint icon to open the application.
- Locate the picture you want to edit
Once Paint is open, click the Paint button in the upper-left corner of the screen. Select Open to find the location of the correct picture on your hard drive.
- Crop the portion of the picture you wish to keep
Under the Home tab at the top, there is a small section that reads "Image" at the bottom. Click Select, and use this tool to highlight the desired photo area. Once you select the part of the picture you want to keep, click Crop.
- Name and save your new picture
Click the Paint button in the top left corner, and select Save or Save As. Choose the desired file type or format for the image, and add a name for the picture in the File Name section. Once you name your image, click Save to complete the process.
