Kids can create numerous easy-to-make woodworking projects at home, such as a picture frame or a birdhouse. Young woodworkers can also create wooden cup coasters or a family name sign with little difficulty.
A simple picture frame only requires two sets of wooden pieces, cut the same length and width. Join them together with glue, and wood connectors to form the frame. An X-shaped cup coaster is another simple woodworking project, requiring only two 4" long wooden dowels and an adhesive.
With a discarded pallet and some nails, kids can create a stylish family name sign. Cut the pallet down to the desired size and add wooden braces to the back for support. Decorate the front with the family name and connect wire to the back so it can hang on the wall.
