Mason jars convert into countless things, including candle holders, sand art displays, holiday decorations and miniature terrariums. People create these easy craft projects in an hour or less, and even young children make a few of them. Most of the materials cost very little money.
Creating candle holders only requires a heat-resistant jar, looped wire to secure around the jar's neck and a small votive. Children and adults can crush colored chalk into playground sand and pour the mixture into Mason jars to create sand art.
Creating a Halloween decoration takes glue, two pieces of wire to cut into a handle and white-, orange- and yellow-colored buttons to arrange like candy corn inside the jar. Terrariums need rocks, potting soil and moss, layered in that order. Terrarium owners should mist the moss at least once a week.
