To download Pokemon games, connect the 3DS or Wii U system to the Internet and search for “Pokemon” in the eShop application. Alternately, visit Nintendo.com and purchase a download code in order to download Pokemon games from Nintendo. Most of the Pokemon games Nintendo offers for download are only available on the Nintendo 3DS, but a few games are available for the Wii U.
To access the eShop, connect the console to the Internet and tap the eShop icon. A search bar allows customers to search for specific games, such as “Pokemon Picross,” which is free to download. The search bar also accepts general search terms such as “Pokemon.” After selecting a game title, the eShop displays the description, trailers and other information about the game. Choose the Tap Here to Purchase option to purchase the game. Add funds to your eShop account with a Nintendo eShop card or a credit card. The eShop then shows instructions on how to download the purchased game.
Buy digital copies of Pokemon games on Nintendo.com, which gives you a download code to redeem in the Nintendo eShop. As of 2015, three titles are available to download for free: "Pokemon Picross," "Pokemon Shuffle" and "Pokemon Rumble World." Prices for other available Pokemon games range from about $3 to $40, as of 2015.
