Plug each end of an HDMI cable into the HDMI ports on the console and the television, then adjust the display settings on the Microsoft Xbox 360 to match the resolution of the television. Connecting an Xbox 360 to an HD television ensures that the players have a much better gaming experience, as the increased resolution makes games easier to see and play. If the HDMI port on the television is already in use, component cables are also available, but the display will not be as crisp.
- Connect the HDMI cable to the TV
- Connect the HDMI cable to the Xbox 360
- Power on both devices
- Adjust the Xbox 360's settings
Locate the HDMI port on the back or the side of the television. The HDMI port is often located next to the other component ports.
On the back of the Xbox 360, the port for the HDMI cable is above the Ethernet port, and below the component port.
Plug in both the television and the Xbox 360 if they are not already connected to an outlet. Power on the Xbox 360 and the television.
Navigate to "System Settings" on the Xbox 360. Choose "Display" and then select "HDTV Settings." Choose the television's resolution from the list.
