Cleaning change is a simple process that can be completed within a few minutes, though the exact length of time it takes depends on the severity of the dirt build-up on the coins. To clean your change, you need dishwashing soap, a toothbrush, a cup, a clean cloth and access to warm water.Continue Reading
Pour some water and dishwashing liquid into the cup. Your mixture should contain more water than dishwashing detergent for maximum efficiency. Allow some time for the two substances to mix.
Take the toothbrush and submerge its head into the cup. Give it some time to soak until the toothbrush is completely saturated with your cleaning solution. Take each coin, one at a time, in one hand and use your other hand to maneuver the toothbrush. Scrub the coins vigorously. Coins with lots of built-up dirt require more pressure.
Run some warm water, and place the sudsy coins underneath the running water. Rinse the coins thoroughly until you cannot see the dirt or the cleaning solution bubbles anymore. Once the coins have been thoroughly rinsed, rub them dry with a clean, dry cloth.
