To charge up the ki for any character in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, hold down G then press Back once, then press Back again one more time, holding it down. Once the player has pressed the buttons properly and in sequence, the player will see the ki gauge gradually fill up.
The main difference in the ki gauge bar on Budokai 3 is that the bar was divided into eight sections as opposed to one single bar in earlier versions. The ki gauge bar also becomes larger as the character levels up. When the characters transform, the ki level also increases but the defense points decrease. Charging up allows the players to execute special attacks like Ki Blasts and Ultimates.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 was part of the fighting games series based on the anime "Dragon Ball Z." It was released in November 2004 in North America for the Sony PlayStation 2 gaming console. Budokai 3 has 42 playable characters and it had several re-releases such as the Greatest Hits for the United States and the Director's Cut for Europe.
